Cab by Train
Anyone else hear of this song by the band Train? I can't get it out of my head once I hear it.
I had the day off yesterday and Jenn had picked up some applications for the NL Liquor Corp the other day, so we got up and filled them out, printed off a copy of our resumes and got a bus to the main office. I'd like to work there. I hear it's work 2 days and then off 2 days. That would be cool. Even though it is unionized and it's hard to get hours at first, I could keep my existing job for a while and do both of it. The pay is Soooo much better!
We had a BBQ yesterday. We went to get the pork chops out of the freezer and seen that Deb had frozen them all in one big lump! So we had to thaw the WHOLE THING. 9 huge pork chops. We only BBQ'ed 4 and then put the rest in the fridge for today. I hear constantly freezing and thawing meat is not good. So, anyone what a pork chop? We got plenty! lol
When Deb and Tammy came in they bought a lot of food so we could have a BBQ and because they wanted to cook for us and they needed a lot of stuff we normally don't buy for it. It was good, we were able to skip a whole week without buying anything.
Jenn and I gotta visit them sometime. It's across the island but I'm sure we will be able to get there some time down the road.
Last night I was scratching my back and I felt a big dent in my back...It's pretty deep. It's also a scar. One time when I was younger Deb and I were playing around and shoving each other, she shoved a little harder then I had expected and I fell back on an opened door. The doorknob got me right in the back, on the left side just below the ribs. It hurt for weeks. I didn't even know it scared till Jenn pointed it out one day. We were always rough with each other, There are countless body marks in the wall where we were pushing each other or fighting each other. One time Deb pratically flew into Les and put a full body print in the wall between 2 wall studs. That was funny. No one was really hurt....Just the wall. There was also a similar mark on another wall and I can't remember how that one got there. When mom found it she called us all up to look at it. I seriously can't remember who did it or if I was even involved at all.
Well today looks like it will be a nice day again, the snow is almost all gone. All that's left now is the dirty piles that came from parking lots and such. They are really small and look like mounds of sand more than anything, but you can still see a little bit of white here and there. SPRING IS HERE!

Long time, no update
Had a pretty busy week really. On Tuesday Deb and Tammy came in town for a visit. They brought Bum along with them. I love that dog! She is getting so big!
We went to The Rooms, which is a huge museum and went to the Keg steakhouse and bar one night. The Rooms was ok, there wasn't half as much in there as when Jenn and I went there ourselves last summer but we still had a great time there. At the Keg we got there a little early and went up to the bar to have a few drinks while our table got ready. The place looked classy and the food was just wonderful. The waitress was excellent and was very friendly.
Another day we went to The Johnson GeoCentre. That was lots of fun. I always love going there. I like looking at their gift shop too, it's very expensive in there tho and I feel like I'll break something if I stay there too long. We also went to Costco and loaded up on meats and then had a BBQ the next day. Deb and I had a hard time trying to the get Propane tank to work. I'm very careful about propane now, after that trouble we had when I first moved to the East end of town. Didn't want anyone to call 911 this time!
They stayed till Monday morning and then drove across the island back home. Overall we had a fun week.

Blender
There is a girl at work who is moving away from the province and she is selling just about everything she owns. I bought a blender from her. It's a big Black and Decker blender and I got it for just 30.00!! I made some smoothies for Jenn and I last night and they were really good.
I just came back from getting groceries not too long ago. Boy, it's some wet out there today. I'm very surprised I never got splashed from the traffic. I think everyone had the same idea I had today, go buy food! lol I was really losing my patience over there at Sobeys. There are so many slow people going around mindlessly with carts. I swear they were all half asleep.
So the basement is still empty. When I came home today the landlord was waiting in her car. She told me she had an appointment for a viewing. She said everyone tells her how nice it is and then she never hears back from them.
I'm not going to lie, the place is SMALL! With NO storage, I wouldn't want to live there.

I went to visit Suzanne today. She had invited several people over and some people even invited themselves. A total of 9 should have been there but only 2 showed, me and another girl from work.
She was really disappointed, she had cooked so much food for us! I took so much home for Jenn. She had to work so couldn't make it.
We played Scrabble and watched 2 parts of 2 movies. I had a great time.
She has a border from Romania staying with her, she has been there for some time now. There was a point where we were drinking some wine and she put up her glass and said "cheers" in Romanian. Then she asked how to say it in english since her english isn't the best and Suzanne said "Up yours" so she said with a big friendly smile "Up yours!" lol it was funny. But she was told the correct word afterwards. It was too funny. It's a good thing she is a good sport about the whole language barrier thing, it must be so fustrating at times. I know I'd be all the time

Remember that song?
If you want to call it a song.
Everybody's Free: To Wear Sunscreen by Baz Luhrmann?
I downloaded it a while ago and I'm listening to it now. When it first came out I really didn't listen that much to the words. Now that I listen to the words I see how much truth is in it and how much advise is in it that you can really follow.

Blue Towels
Yesterday I bought some nice jumbo sized towels at Sobeys close to work. They were on sale (30% off) So I picked up all the dark blue towels they had. The only other colours they had were black, baby blue and some funky colour green. Last night they got washed. The lint trap in the dryer picked up so much from them I swear I could have had made a hand towel out of it!
Today I get in the shower and decided to use the new towels. When I start drying my arms off I noticed they looked a little blue. Then I realized I also had little blue woollies all over me! I couldn't get them off! They were all over my face and my head was covered in them! Ack! I had to get back in the shower and wash then all off. Then I had to use one of my old scratchy towels. I guess I need to wash the towels 1 or 2 more times before they can be used.
Stupid towels! lol

Oy, what have I done!
I was at work today and I opened my big mouth. There are 2 coworks that sit close to me and one has been constantly saying little mean comments about the other. I'll call that person coworker1. This other person is just about fed up with it and I don't blame her, I'll call her coworker2 for the sake of this entry.
The other day another coworker asked coworker1 if they were fighting because they used to be best of friends and now they hardly say a word to each other. Coworker1 said that no they were not fighting but coworker2 had humiliated her a few days back about what she had asked her. Coworker2 only asked for a book back she had lent her a while ago.
Well today I was speaking to Coworker2 and told her what Coworker1 said, thinking that she already knew, or at least had some kind of idea what was said. Apparently not. Now the shit hit the fan. I'm afraid to go back to work Monday because Coworker2 is very VERY mad at Coworker1 and I fell like I started the whole thing. I feel like a snitch and a "backbiter"
I just had to open my big mouth.
Gotta love work place drama, feels just like jr. high all over again.
