Spaghetti for breakfast!
Mowed the lawn again today. The Dandy Lions were getting out of hand. They were on average 6 inches higher than the grass. Now the lawn looks wonderful, nice and neat. We got a summer catalog for Chrisco in the mail today. Man, they think of everything. Hampers with camping equipment, hampers with gas BBQ'ers and loads of hampers with meats. They even have some with school supplies.
It was a beautiful day here today, such a nice day to have off too. I had the windows opened all day without feeling one bit chilly.
I cooked spaghetti this morning while we were cooking breakfast. I was making it for Jenn to take to work with her for her lunch. While cooking it I actually wanted to eat it more than the bacon and eggs that were also cooking. That happens with me a lot, in the morning I'd crave stuff like mashed potatoes, chicken etc. Weird eh? But I managed to hold off till dinner time to eat it. I had my bacon instead, it was really good all the same.

The Home Depot
Both of us had the day off today and Jenn thought it would be great to go to My Brothers Place for their brunch buffet that they have there. We got ready and headed off. When we got there we seen a sign on the door that said the store opening was delayed due to pluming problems. So we waited a few minutes, I went to Tim's for a donut to hold me over (Mmmm carrot cake donut!) and we also went to the bank. That gave us like 15 minutes so we checked the restaurant again and this time a worker was at the door and said it would not open at all today now due to the pluming issue they were having.
So we headed to the mall instead and had some Chinese food. It was so good! I had rice, beef & broccoli and chicken balls(my fav!) Jenn had Chinese noodles, rice and wontons. I must say the area around the escalators (where the pictures used to be hung) is looking really different. If anyone here has been there before then you know what area I'm talking about. It's a place to access the lower level of the mall and the walls were covered in some of the best portraits I've ever seen.
Then we saw a movie! It was totally not planned and unexpected, but very nice too. We saw Over the Hedge. It was such a great family movie. We also got the collector cups that they gave with their kids movie pack (popcorn, candy and a soda).
After all that we went to Home Depot. We need something to put our garbage in now when we bring it to the curb in the mornings. If we don't then the garbage people will not collect out garbage and give us a fine. There were these big tubs that were on sale for 99.00 so we tried to find one. Do you think we could?? Nooooo. We had to ask for help and finding that alone was a task all in itself. I was thinking that for such a huge store (and it is HUGE) they sure don't have very many people staffed. Finally we got help and realized that the only one left was on display out front. And unlike some places (Wal-mart) they actually let us have it! They even gave us a 10% discount because of it! How nice!
Now, this thing is big, enough for 4 big bags of garbage easily, or as the cashier put it "big enough to hide a body." I called a cab company and told them that we needed a van or something with a lot of trunk room. They couldn't help us, so I called another and was able to get a station wagon. It just fit! Actually he had to tie the back hatch down but it wasn't bad at all. Cost us almost 20.00 from there to home. While we were waiting for a cab a nice lady who was waiting for her husband to bring their truck around, asked where we lived because she would have offered to give us a ride! How nice is that! We told her and she said she was only going to be going about half that distance so we were out of luck there. I tell ya, the people here are some nice.

Chicken Shit and CBC News
Well I got my new glasses today, As soon as I put them on I noticed a difference right away. It felt like I had just put glasses on for the first time all over again. I let out a big "wooooow" and everything when I put them on.
I went to see Jenn at work today while she was on her lunch break. We went to the pet store that is just across the parking lot saw a big potbelly pig there named Sprinkles. It was white with some big black spots. Very nice, and when we left there we said "bye" to it and it snorted/grunted at us as if to say "yeah whatever" lol I think it was trying to sleep.
While I was waiting for the bus to go home. I noticed that CBC News was there with a camera person and an interviewer. He came right up to me and asked me all these questions on my opinion on the city's Metrobus. He seemed very please with my answers and then asked if I'd go on camera for the news. I was to chicken shit! I said no. When I got on the bus and the camera was filming I felt like kicking myself, when will a news station ever stop me and ask me to be on TV ever again!!?! ARGH! You still might see me if you tune in, they filmed me going on the bus. I'm the one with the big blue/gray winter coat on and sunglasses

Rainy Day
It's raining a lot today, it's been rainy all this past week really. Cool and damp. Jenn and I mowed the lawn and the mower kept getting clogged with wet grass! It would stall out and everything.
I'm working from 1pm to 9:30 pm tonight, I did a shift change with a friend who really needed the day off.
I have nothing else interesting to say right now.

You click the beat with your space bar and it tells you all the possible songs.

Glasses
Hey all! Sorry for the lack of updates.
not much has been happening here, same ol' same ol'
I'm really starting to like that show Deal Or No Deal. It really shows just how greedy some people are. The people that they pick to go on their show also seem to have been smoking something before going on camera, they are usually acting so strange and "out there".
I have the next few days off so I may be updating again shortly. I have an eye doctors appointment for Friday, I feel like my eyes are getting worse as I get older. I guess it' all down hill after 20! lol I'm also going to pick out 2 new pairs of frames. I can't wait to get something better than what I have now. I sat on the ones I wear now some time ago and I haven't gotten them bent right since. I'm thinking about a pair that has no rims, they seem cool and light.
I also have to get a dentist appointment set up sometime this week, both my bottom wisdom teeth are coming out. Not the normal way either, instead of up they are coming forward so it's pushing all my bottom teeth together. Very painful when they move. I'm just afraid that the dentist will say I have to have surgery and will have to get put under and all that fun stuff. I don't think I can handle that. Eep! What am I to do!

Eagles
I just got home not too long ago. I don't really have much to say, just wanted to share another link. I found this one 2 days ago. It's a live webcam next to a nest of a Bald Eagle. There are little babies there and you can see them hoping around and stuff. I thought I should share it.

Damn the City of St. John's!!
We now have to cover our garbage when we put it out for collection. Normally you could just put it out by the curb and that was it. But because there are a whole lot of fricken lazy people in this city who put the garbage out the night before and animals tear it apart during the night we now have to have it in some kind of heavy box. with a lid that will not blow off the box, and simply covering the garbage isn't going to help. Damn, damn them all.

iTunes and Back pain
Well, I was writing about iTunes and my back pain when blogger crapped out on me last. I didn't feel like updating after that for a little while. So here I go again
I was downloading some songs the other day (the frowned upon way) and I was thinking that with the amount that I actually download, about 3 a month at best, it would be better to do it the other way and pay 0.99 a song and get the right song the first time and not have to worry if this song will end up costing me 75.00 + in repairs if it had a virus on it. Even though I have a virus scan it doesn't always work.
So since I have an iPod and it comes with iTunes I thought about signing up for their store. I got 4 songs downloaded already. Each song downloaded in less than 30 seconds and they are great quality! The only downside is that you need iTunes to play them. I use WinAmp all the time and they don't work there. The format is different than the normal .MP3 they are .M4P They can be burnt to CD's too, but if you wanna play them on your computer you gotta play it on iTunes, which kinda sucks.
My back is a lot better now. When I was updating the other day it wasn't as good as it is now but I would say by the end of this week it will be back to normal. Once in a while it gets a little unbearable. If I sit, stand, or lie down for too long it acts up and I have to try and rub it out. The knot in my back feels about the size of a grapefruit. It's pretty bad. Thank goodness for painkillers!

Back pain
So I hurt my back real bad today. I thought it was nothing and just needed to rest it for a few minutes, so I went back to bed for 1/2 hour.
Big mistake! I couldn't get back out of bed! Jenn had to help me. I was still going to work. I thought I had no other choice. Jenn had to help dress me and all. I couldn't bend down, lift my legs or ever walk normal. Jenn helped me get ready for work then I tried to walk to the bus stop. It took me like 3-4 minutes to get from the front steps of the house to the driveway. It was so hard, and all I could think about was trying to get up the steps of the bus fast enough so that I could sit down in time before the bus driver started to move on. Then I thought about trying to get off the bus. That's when I realized I was not going to be able to get on the bus at all unless the Route 5 was using one of the new handicapped models and had no steps to climb. I didn't want to take that chance. So I called in sick. First time since December 28th! I did pretty good if you ask me!
