Surprise at home

On to the rest of my week!
While in NB I got a call on my cell phone from our landlord, she said that a contractor would be stopping by on Thursday to put in new windows on the front of the house. She said it would only take one day as all they would have to do is pop out the old ones and put in the new ones. "Fine" I say, we really needed windows all over the house. I thought it was a little strange since they had said before that they were not going to do it till next spring which was when we had planned to leave so we wouldn't have to be home during the whole construction.
Then I called her on Friday to make sure that things went ok. She said that the windows are in place. Then she told me that they also replaced the door and that our keys would not work so she will put the new keys in the mail box. "Fine" I said, doesn't seem to be too bad. Then she said that she didn't think they swept up after they left so we may have to sweep. I didn't mind that part either.
When we finally get out of the cab from the airport my jaw dropped. The windows were all in place and so was the door, but they had taken off ALL the siding on the front of the house and on the right side as far as the chimeny. We came inside to see our furniture all over the place. The chairs that were in the spare room and Lesley's and Mike's room were in the kitchen. All the furniture in the living room were moved to the middle of the room, the curtains were taken down and the metal rods were left in a twisted heap on the chesterfield. The mattress that belonged on the bed in the spare room was in the hallway. The porch was full of sharp jagged tools and there was a layer of saw dust on just about everything. NOTHING was covered up.
My computer was caked in sawdust. The computer in Les and Mikes room was not bad at all, but their bed had a fine coat of dust.
This was not something we had hoped to come home to after a vacation, we wanted to just come home and unpack and go to bed. That didn't happen. For another thing our room was blocked full of furniture as well. Our room is in the back so we didn't get a new window yet (Thank God!) I took out the vacuum and we cleaned and cleaned and cleaned. Everything is clean now and we have things planned out in the house. We don't use the living room anymore since it is so full. So basically we use the kitchen, bathroom and our bedroom for now. The new rooms with the new windows have no privacy at all! Hopefully it will be all back to normal soon.
We called the landlord that night and told her about the mess, she apologized a lot and said tat it will only take a week to finish. Monday will be week 2. They have the siding completely done. They just need to stain it some more and then they have to come inside to finish up the holes they left in the walls. Hopefully then we can start living normally again.

Back from New Brunswick

I've actually been back since Saturday night. Just so much has happened that I really haven't had time to update.
The trip was great! I had a great time and Jenn had fun too. The trees there are HUGE! And the bugs are big too. Ladybugs the size of thumbtacks! Yuck!
Their "Uptown" reminds me a lot of our "Downtown" except a lot of their older looking buildings seem to be falling down or just not cared for. We went to one place that was a market and it slopped down in one end and there was a escalator at the bottom that lead down further. When we went down we had walked into a mall. At this point we were underground. When we walked further still there was a skywalk. When we went through it you could see the traffic below you and the city, I would say we were 2 stories up out of the ground. I don't know how that happened. It was all very disorienting to me.
We picked up a few things on our travels.
They sell alcohol in their wal-marts!! Can you believe that! And their mall food courts have McDonald outlets there. Also fudge is in no short supply there. They have them at all the convenience stores, gas stations, markets, dollar stores. I think New Brunswick has an obsession with fudge - good prices too!
As well, Irving gas stations there are called Blue Canoes.
On the flight to NB we had to first get on a big plane to Halifax. I was so scared I cried a little (I'm such a big baby) and then we had to get on a little plane. I must admit that both flights were short, and very pleasant as far as flights go.
On the way back was a different story. We got on a smaller plane from Halifax to St. John's. They had a lot of options on things to watch while we were flying. I picked Family Guy. The flight was so shaky and I didn't think we were going to make it. Halfway through the flight the captain put the seatbelt sign on and didn't turn it of till after landing. I was thinking to myself "If I can just find another half hour show to watch I'll be fine." Even Jenn was scared. We made it home ok and without and troubles besides waiting almost half and hour for our luggage to be unloaded.
That's all for now, but there is more to come.

Greetings from New Brunswick!

Well tomorrow we head back to Newfoundland. What a week! It really just flew by and I never expected it to go so quickly. We did so much, we went all over the place and saw so many things. We parked by this big city park with really old trees that was founded in 1785 I think. There is an old theatre right across the road and Nikki Payne is going to be there on the 18th! Too bad we couldn't stay longer so we could see her.
We went to so many malls and saw so many tourist sights. And they have this place -not sure of the correct name, but it's some kind of market, you can by so many things there and it's in an old building and then you can go underground from the back of the market to a mall, but then half way through it you some how end up going down some stairs and then you are going over a sky walk with traffic under you. That totally confused be and I felt so lost lol
Gotta go!

Poem

Going on a plane today
Going to say "bye" and wave
I'm nervous like no end
I'm sure when it's over I'll say "again!"
But still this is the hardest part
The time between now and when I depart

New Brunswick

Well today is the day I go on a big plane...then a small one, to get to New Brunswick. We'll be gone for almost a full week. I can't wait to go and also right now I'm dreading it so much, I'm thinking about everything that can go wrong. Like lost luggage, Missing the filght, getting lost in an airport I've never been in before. All that good stuff!
Wish me luck!

Useless

I feel about as usefull as tits on a bull right now.
I can't do much of anything.
Last night I tried sleeping on the floor, it was kind of comfy but as soon as I would drift off to sleep my body automatically tried to shift to one of my sides. Each time I would wake up half way into turning. I was so stiff and was moving very slowly.
I have one of those clocks that can project the time on any flat surface, so I had it pointing to the ceiling so I could see the time. Last time I looking was 2:37 am. Jenn was also having a hard time going to sleep since she is used to me being there all the time, she also seems to have trouble sleeping when she knows she has to get up early, tonight was no different. When I last looked at the clock I asked Jenn if she had falled asleep yet, she said no. She had to get up at 6:30. Around 3 o'clock I got back in bed, I couldn't stand waking up every 10 minutes because of the pain. At least there it wouldn't hurt so much while on my side. Jenn and I quickly fell asleep. Jenn got up to leave for work and I stayed it bed till around 12:00 I had to cancel some plans with a friend which really made me feel bad. Now I'm up and walking around. When I first got up it feels like someone got a belt wrapped around my stomach and back just below my ribs and is making it tighter and tighter, which also feels like the air is being forced out of my lungs, the paid goes right up my left shoulder blade and today it also includes the left side of my neck.
I should be doing chores today and the lawn really needs a mowing before it gets too cold outside to do so. It doesn't look like that would be happening today. I hope I'm well enough to go to work tomorrow. Well, that's enough complaining today.
-The doorbell just rang and it was my land lord looking for the rent. I have on my "around the house" clothes and when she looked at me she was kinda startled and asked if I was just wearing my underwear. What, is she blind? Does this really look like underclothing? Who wears a bright orange shirt and light blue shorts under MORE clothing? eesh!
