Welcome back home!
Les is back in Newfoundland now. Her flight came in at 12:21am today. I didn't get to bed till 1:45am and last time I looked at the clock it was 4:49am. So there was no way I was going to work on 70 minutes of sleep. So I had to call in to work and let them know I was not going to make it. Since this training I have not been on a normal sleeping schedule and it's starting to really take it's tole on me now.

Moving time
I called around on Saturday past to try and get some rates on moving. I found a good company with a great rate. 45.00 an hour (1 hour and 1/2 minimum) with 2 men and a truck. So I asked to book a job with them. The guy that was answering the phone told me I would have to call back on Monday when the office was opened. Apparently when I called it got forwarded to one of the movers cell since the office was closed.
So I had all intentions to call back Monday but it totally slipped my mind till this morning.
I find now that since I get up at 6am for training at work my mind is razor sharp and I was remembering things that normally would have been lost in the abyss of my brain for good. So I had written down to call them when I got home today from work. When I actually got home I had totally forgotten all about it. I had so much on my mind that it just slipped out. While sitting here reading some blogs I read the word "moving" and that memory suddenly shot back into plain view and I remembered thinking about calling movers and then everything else I was thinking earlier was coming back.
So I look in my cell at the call history to find the # I had called, the only thing is that I forgot if they were the last company I called for rates or not. Also, 2 companies had very similar names. So I looked into the phone book to verify the names and thought it was just as well to call both back, I called one and it was 80 an hour with 2 hour minimum and 4 men and a big truck was the least they would do. So I called the other # with confidence, thinking this other one was the right one. I call and I say I want to confirm the rate I was given earlier and without a breath the guy on the other end said 90 an hour(1 hr minimum) and 2 men and a truck. So I hand up from him and I'm totally confused. I KNOW it was one of these 2 companies. They must have changed their rates or smelt a person they could jip. I then find the note that I had written down when I first spoke with them Saturday past and realized that it was the company that just quoted me 90.00! So in a hurry I call them back to see what was up. I get another person on the line that tells me that is WAS 45.00 and he has no idea who I spoke with earlier. SO I book them for the 10th and all is good.

snow snow go away come again....NEVER!
well we had a big dumping of snow last night. I could not believe how much fell! I had to call in at work and everything, everyone else in the training class called in as well so the class was cancelled for the day.
We called a guy to come clear the driveway for us, he came just after Jenn left for work. He could only do so much since most of the snow has been there for about 2 weeks now and was hard as rocks. He pushed all the snow to the area where our landlord would keep her RV trailer. But it extended to the corner of the house, so he had plowed in the basement apartment tenants. But our driveway was cleared, so neither of us really minded. We just got right into shoveling before it got too hard to do and in 1 hour and 45 minutes we got it all done. My back feels like its broke and I'm afraid the shape I will be in tomorrow.

Head Cold
So I now have a head cold, this is the 3rd day with it and it feels like it will never go away. Today I also feel my throat acting up and I'm starting to cough and sneeze a lot more then when I just had a runny nose and sinus headache 2 days ago. I just hope it doesn't spread to my lungs!
The Amazing Race all-stars is coming on CBS tonight. Rob and Amber will be back in the race again. I can't wait!
Starting Monday I have to go to work from 7am to 3:30 pm for training on a new project. I'm not looking forward to getting up that early but I am really looking forward to getting off earlier. I guess you really can't have one without the other eh?

Ode to Golden Grams
Well I got a call from Jenn today while I was leaving for work, she told me that my favourite cereal (Golden Grahams) was no longer going to be made and they had all the boxes taken off the shelfs and put in a discount cart for 50% off at Sobeys. So when I got to work I bought 4 boxes.
They are regular 5.19 for a small box. I guess they stopped making them because of the cost, golden grahams is one of the most expensive cereals that I've ever bought.
Once these 4 boxes are gone I guess I'll never ever eat them again! :^(
Oh Golden Graham! I will miss eating you!

The viewing and the view
Jenn and I went to see the new apartment Yesterday. The previous occupants are still living there till the end of this month. When we got there the land lord rang their door bell and no one answered so she tried to unlock the door to let us in. The deadbolt was not working well. We waited and waited for her to get in. She had to get help, Finally we were able to get in.
On the main floor there is a kitchen, dinning room and living room, 1/2 bathroom and a closet. The only window is a glass patio door, but the apartment is layed out in a way that lets every bit of light coming in fill all the rooms(besides the bathroom). Upstairs was the 2 bedrooms, full bathroom, storage room, and a linen closet.
Everyone that I've spoken to that lives/lived there said that the bedrooms and storage room are HUGE. I thought they were just average. The smaller bedroom is about the size of the room we are in now at this house. The other room is the size of my room when I lived down the street in another apartment building a few years ago. The storage room is a funny shape and reminds me of the storage room in Deb's apartment on Guzzwell Dr.
The laundry room located in the middle of the building is clean looking and has 5 dryers and 5 washers. They are 1.25 to use though, which is kind of expensive for an apartment building, I'd normally only expect that from a laundry matt.
The apartment is facing the street so when we look out our windows we see both of our places of work, not a good sight to see everytime you look out but we can deal with it ;^)

Packing
Yesterday we got up early and went to Jenn's work because they had some boxes saved for us. They had so many it filled two grocery carts full. when we got home we just left them in the living room. I was too tired to do anything with them since we got up so early.
Today I decided to put some of the boxes together(as they were collapsed) and fill them. I got 2 full so far and then I remembered that we need bubble wrap for some of the pictures we have on the walls and for some other breakables. So I go over to the dollar store where they have rolls of it on for a dollar each. I buy 8 of them and 2 packs of bubble pockets. which is more or less like a sleeve of bubble wrap and you slid something into it. They were a dollar per pack as well. Then I had to walk home with it. It was so windy I was holding on to the bag and the bag was blowing around like crazy, I nearly lost it twice. Bubble wrap doesn't seem like much, but when you have 10.00 worth of it you might want to make sure you don't lose it. I can just imagine all the rolls bursting open and flying with the wind everywhere lol

Got an Apartment
When I went to drop off an application to the apartment complex across from my place of work a month ago the lady that took my papers told me to call her on February 1st or 2nd to see if there was an opening.
I called her on the 1st and she said that there was a lot going on there now and she haven't had a chance to see if anyone has passed in their 1 month notice, she said for me to call back the next day.
So I call her today and kept missing her! I'd call and someone else would answer and say she just stepped out, then while on break at work I'd turn on my cell phone and see that she left me a voice message, when I'd try to call her back again she had-once again- stepped out. This made me very nervous. So at 5:30 I tried again and she answered the phone with "Hello Sheldon" I guess she knew it would be me, or she is just physic (and I didn't use the same phone either so we can't assume she was looking at caller ID).
I got an apartment! Someone just passed in their notice. It's a 2 story unit....heck, they all are! 2 bedrooms, 1 and 1/2 bath, dishwasher. BIG storage room. But no laundry hookup. So the washer and dryer will have a nice new home for a while in that roomy storage room. I got an appointment to view the apartment on Monday. I cant wait!
