Cable TV
Yesterday after I was cleaning up all that spilled scotchguard Jenn and I happened to turn on the TV in the bedroom and noticed that the cable was out. I came down here to the living room and noticed that the internet and cable were also not working. Then I noticed that I had flipped the switch to the power outlet that the modem and cable box plugs into. So I turned it back on and the internet and cable turn back on except for the cable in the bedroom. I start trying to reset the digital cable box but it didn't work, I followed the instructions on power cycling the box and still nothing. I get so mad I start ripping power cords out of the power bar to see it that will help. Nope! So I call
>Aliant< and they go over the exact same troubleshooting steps with me again. Then they schedule a tech out for 8-12 for today. It's now 11:15 and I normally leave for work in 15 minutes. I called them back and check to make sure a tech was still coming. I work for a similar company and I know that if you have a doubt you should trust your gut and call to make sure. The customer rep I speak with say that they have done additional troubleshooting steps and that they had tried to call me to verify that that service was working. I was home all day, no one called the house phone and I also left my cell phone # and no one has tried to call that one either. I know the ropes as we had to do the same thing at work. Most likely no one called to verify my service and they are just saying it to cover their own butts. The rep said he will call around to a tech in the area to see if they can swing by, he said he will call back in 5-10 minutes with an answer, if I don't hear back by 11:25 I WILL be calling back. So I guess no tech was actually scheduled and I'm betting that no one will by by at all today. I'm not going to miss a day of work for this, and I'm not going to be late either. When I call back if they still act as dumb as someone that just fell off a turnip truck then I will reschedule for tomorrow and have to go to work and also see if there will be something I could do about working later tomorrow. Grrr this is pissing me off

Final sofa update
FINALLY!
Got the sofa!
It's a lot darker than I remember, looks kind of like a light shade of tan instead of off white. It also came with 2 cushions, which I didn;t know about till it was delivered.
The two delivery guys had a bit of trouble getting it to fit through the door leading into my hallway. But they got everything in all in one piece!
I had paid extra for "scotchguard" and I thought they would have applied it at the warehouse, but no sir! when they had it all set up and the legs screwed on they took out this tank that looked like it could have been used for a big bug spray operation and stared to spray the couch right here in the living room. When they were finished with that something happened with the pressure in the tank and the mixture started to spray everywhere! The ceiling was dripping wet and so was the guy spraying it. I also got sprayed all over my right arm and hand. He had to run out onto the deck with it and let it spray everywhere down to the grass. So our deck was covered in it. I guess we won't have any water on our deck for months now! haha.
The whole apartment smells like scotchguard now, but I have all the windows opened and everything is airing out nicely. I'll take a picture later today when I get everything settled away. I can't wait to sit on it and try it out.

Sofa Update again
Later that day Jenn and I went to Leon's again, we took some measuring tape and explained what happened. They same person that served me before was there again. I went right over to her, she was so kind and friendly last time. She was the same this time too!
She said for us to look around and that she would occasionally pop around to see if we found anything yet. There were 2 that caught our eyes. Both were the right size and one was 100.00 more than what the original and the other was 100.00 less. The sofa that cost more was super soft and when we sat in it we sank right in and I felt like going to sleep! the only ting about it was that the seat cushions were sewed in and could not be turned over! which was a big problem for us. The cheaper one wasn't as fluffy and soft but it was still good and the cushions could be flipped over in case of an accidental spill. The biggest problem with this one was that the arms were not really soft at all, but it was nice enough - and that price! Can't go wrong there! So we ordered it, this time it won't be delivered till Wednesday. We have lived here since March without a sofa so I guess we can last a few more days.

Sofa update!
So at 9:15 am I get a call from the Leon's delivery people and they said they would be by in 1/2 hour. I was so happy, I jumped out of bed right away and got dressed and got up to move stuff to make room, in exactly 1/2 hour I get a call and they said that they are outside the building and will be up shortly. I went down to keep the doors opened.
When they got to our apartment door they said "I don't think it's going to fit" which were the worst things anyone could say to me that day it seemed. I told them I could get the door off the hinges and they really didn't feel right about me doing so and said maybe I should get the maintenance guy to do it. I went to look for the landlord and of course he was nowhere to be found! Typical!
So I march back up up and tell them he is not home and that I will take it off and that I've done it before when we first moved in (little white lie, just to ease them into feeling like it would be ok)
I take it off and they try and try to squeeze the sofa in. It was 2 inches too big!! JUST 2!!! ARGH! They had to take it back. So me and jenn are going to go back there today to pick something else out. something that isn't any bigger than 30 inches. I can't believe they had to take the sofa back! We were sooooooo close to having something nice to site on! :(

Apartment woes
I thought I was done posting for today then I realized that I forgot to tell you all about our kitchen sink. I was cleaning the walls with one of those Mr Clean Magic Erasers and was thinking about what to write when I realized that it was a little dry so I went to the bathroom to run some water over it and I noticed that the countertop was soaking wet! the box of Q-Tips were soaked apart and all inside were swelled with water. Jenn's magazines were wet and so was everything else. I looked at the wall and seen that there was water damage! Well holy shit! When will this end?!?!
Ok, lets start with the kitchen. Deb and Tammy came in for a visit a few days ago. The day after they left I got up and went to the kitchen like normal, so I could make myself some breakfast. When I walked on the tiled floor my feet got wet! I was confused at this point being half asleep and all. "Did I just waste something without realizing?" I walked around in it a few seconds before I found out where it was coming from.....The pipes under the kitchen sink!
I had to take everything out of the cupboards, even the cupboard next to the one with the pipes. Everything was soaking wet! We even lost a few Electrosol(sp?) tabs that we use for the dishwasher. The cardboard tube they normally come in was so wet, that when I tried to pick it up it fell apart in my fingers. I had to take them out by the handful. I cleaned up the mess right away and called Jason, our landlord. When I was done leaving him a message -because he never answers the bloody thing -I went back to look under the sink some more and to maybe find the leak. When I opened the door I noticed that there was a lot of water there again! not just a little, a lot! I find where the water is leaking, just before the shutoff valve that is under there, so there was nothing I could do about it. I had some tubberware put there to catch the leak while I waited for Jason. 1 and half hours later he knocks on the door. I had to leave for work in 45 minutes and was at wits end! He looked it all over and did a patch job. He then left to call the plumber. When he returned he said that he had to leave a message because he doesn't work on weekends. I guess pipes are not allowed to break on weekends...naughty pipe! bad boy! You should have broken only from Monday to Friday! HA!
So Jason told me that all should be well. Just keep your water turned off unless you need to take a shower or flush the toilet. That has been what I've been doing since then. So today comes and I have so much to do, it's a good thing I had the day off. The plumber would have come in anyways if I wasn't home. I don't mind that either, but I would just like to be home for my own peace of mind. I left anyways and got the sofa as I had wrote earlier today. When I got back I noticed that no one was home and nothing was touched. It's going for 8:30 now and I doubt the plumber works past 5pm.
Just moments ago I was looking at all the markings on the wall and decided to try and clean them off, that is when I took out the magic eraser and discovered the bathroom. It's not coming from the kitchen as they are both on the same floor and on opposite sides of the floor. I have no idea where it is coming from and I'm getting pissed off.
--As I was typing this last part here I just got a call from Jason's girlfriend/wife/what-have-you and she said Jason will be home at 9pm to see about the water damage and she will call the plumber again for me to see why he didn't show and if he is still going to show.
I can't wait for this to be all fixed!

sofa update
So I got some flyers in the mail earlier last week and there was a flyer from
>Leon's< and they have this sofa on for 699.00
Seems like good enough of a deal, it includes 2 throw pillows and delivery.
I went to the mall since it was practically in the same parking lot and hopped on over to check it out. There were soooooo many selections to chose from. A lot in my price range too, I always thought this store was overpriced! but it isn't too bad, as long as I could get an in store credit card. So I filled out the application there. They sat me down on one of their dinning room sets so I could fill it out. I think that was a sales tactic on their part. "let's sit them down on these chairs and use these tables and maybe they just might buy it too!" haha
I got approved! yeah! Go me!
They said they could deliver it tomorrow if I wanted. First I said okay then I realized that I have to work, so I chose Saturday instead. I don't have to do much to make room in the living room anyways, since it is missing the couch after all ;)
Anyone see those new glasses frames going around lately, I see them all the time on Len Crafters commercial. Really thick rims on the ear pieces. It reminds me of what horses wear, I believe they are called blinders. Looks so strange to me. Here is a picture that I found that is something like what I am talking about:

Busy June
I have never realized how busy June is. I always thought March was my busiest time of the year with 3 birthdays. But no, June is by far busier with 2 birthdays and an anniversary and fathers day. The reason why I feel it is busier is because 3 of these events happen all in one week! while in March everything is kind of spread out.
I'm going to Stvanager Drive today to do some shopping with Les for mom's b-day gift and it's just as well to pick up a fathers day card while I'm there too. Might as well get it all done in one shot. I just hope that sending it Monday is early enough. if not then maybe we'll have to send it express or something.
Summer is finally here!! it's been 20 degrees or more every day now for the past 4 days and I can't go outside without shorts on. One thing that seems weird is that most trees still don't have leaves on them yet. I guess where it's been cold for such a long time it's taking them a little extra long to "wake up"
