Me + Sidewalks = Trouble!

Today Jenn and I decided to go to Value Village to find some clothes for a retro party we are going to in a few weeks. We decided to take the route 3 to Torbay Road Mall and planned to catch it on Highland Dr.
If anyone has walked that part of the street that intersects with Torbay Rd. You'd know that the side with the office building has a big drop off on the edge of the sidewalk.
You know where this is going?
Well, Jenn and I are walking, we each got our MP3 players in, bopping down the road to the music and I just happened to think to myself "Gee, I better stay off the edge of this sidewalk because next thing you know it I'll be rolling down that slope and into a window and on someones lap in that office building." As soon as I finished thinking this down I went!
My right ankle twisted as I lost my footing with my right foot, I tried to compensate for the tilt by leaning to the left. I nearly hit Jenn as I went down. She says I fell so slow and was just unbelievable to watch. The lights were in the middle of a change so the traffic had a bit of a build up on all sides at the intersection. I tried to catch myself and somehow ended up on my back with my arms spread out. My butt and legs almost completely off the sidewalk and down the slopy embankment. When I realized what was on the go I was looking up at the clouds. I jumped up really quickly but it was too late. All the stopped cars had people inside looking at me with opened mouths laughing. Jenn was buckled over laughing too. She said so much of my ass came out of my jeans I practically mooned everyone. A car even beeped a few times at us as they started to pass us. Oh my. There is never a dull moment around me when I'm out and about, that's for sure.

poop ppop everywhere

Since the good weather seems to want to stay for the rest of the season I decided it's time for me to start walking again. I don't walk that far, but I'm making it a point to go every day. I'd like to say come rain or shine, but I most likely won't go in the rain, I hate getting wet haha "come wind or shine" sounds more like it.
I've noticed one thing while walking these past few days, and that's dog shit - lots of it. Why is it that during winter some dog owners feel they don't need to bend down and clean up after their dogs. Is it just because it landed on snow? Do they think it will melt away with it? Well Do I have news for them! I end up walking on the side walk like I'm doing a very complicated foot dance. I think I'll call it "The Unscooped Poop Shuffle"
Maybe I can try our for 'So You Think You Can Dance' and make it far with it. Oh to dream!

I like this song

Les got me to listen to a few of this persons songs. apparently he was on American Idol and didn't make it to the top 24.
I really think he is good and this is my favourite that I could find on youtube:

here are they lyrics:

The ship was sinking; we were drinking, singing one last song,
Casting our gold into the ocean.
You grabbed a bucket, started screaming, "Come on, come on",
Trying to slow the downward motion.
Back in the kingdom, we were kings and queens and Oh, so strong
That God himself could not contain us.
We never thought we'd be the shorter half of sword and gun.
Now god himself could never save us.

Waves of silver, waves of gold
Are coming now to take me,
To separate my body from my soul
And Jesus leaves or takes me.
Hopes of heaven, fears of hell
Tell me, what's the chance I'll make it.
All my other plans have failed,
And all this time I've faked it.

We started sinking, drinking water from the open sea
Losing our bodies to the ocean.
You grabbed my hand and started screaming, "rescue me"
Together fight the downward motion.
Back in the kingdom we were kings and queens and Oh, so strong
That god himself just had to show us.
We never thought we'd see the colder side of land and sea
But he's the only one who knows us.

Waves of silver, waves of gold
Are coming now to take me,
To separate my body from my soul
And Jesus either leaves or takes me.
Hopes of heaven, fears of hell
Tell me, what's the chance I'll make it.
All my other plans have failed,
And all this time I've faked it

It's been a spell

Well it's been a spell since I have last updated.
I've been away for a week and also in the time between I've been too busy to really say much.
Sadly one of Jenns' relatives had a heart attack back in February but I am happy to report he is doing fine now. Jenn and I went out to her home town to visit him and as well we had planned to get some more wedding planning under wraps. I must say, it all seems to be falling into place rather quickly. Before you know it - WHAM! it will be tomorrow and I'll be as nervous as anything.
Just a few minor things left to do, oh and one major thing too. We are in charge in decorating the hall. We were trying to hire a decorator but no one would ever get back to us so nuts to them! We'll keep that money and do it ourselves.
Jenns' relative had surgery Monday and is now doing fine. Jenn's aunt and uncle as well as her grandmother are staying with us for the time being. I thought it was going to be stressful but to tell you the truth it really isn't at all. They have made themselves comfortable and didn't expect us to change any of our daily routines just for them. Also Jenns' uncl is a great cook and I haven't been eating so well since I don't know when! Sure things a nice bit crowded at times and Jenn and I don't have the privacy as we normally would but that's fine for a while, I can deal with it ;)
We got a notice in our mail box today from our landlord stating not to go on our deck as it is unsafe and will be replaced this summer. I find nothing wrong with our deck, we have had 9 people on it at one time and it was fine, I don't see why now would be any different. Don't worry tho, we'll still play it safe and make sure we hardly use it.

Easter time

I hope you all had a good Easter weekend! And for those that don't celebrate Easter, I hope you had a good weekend without the bunny!
Since my mom is on the island and visiting for a while we all decided to gather at Deb's for Supper. Boy was that a good idea! We had so much food and I ate so much I felt like I could have been a beached whale, and I never even had seconds. Must have been really big plates haha
I had a fun time playing with the dogs and they had a fun time walking all over me and Maggie even took a nap across my lap. I want a dog of my own but this building won't allow dogs and I just can't afford one right now. I wouldn't want to go out and buy one and in a few weeks have to give it away because I can't afford to feed and care for it.
My shifts at work are changing again and I no longer have to get up at 5am. Now I can sleep in till 7am and be that little bit extra refreshed.

Getting old

Such a nice day today!
The sun is shining, a light breeze is blowing and it doesn't feel like it has dipped below 0 degrees at all today. With all this you wouldn't think that a storm is brewing. 20 cm expected, followed by 20 mm of rain, then snow again followed by the chance of freezing rain. I bet it's going to be such a mess tomorrow!
It never fails! Always weather on my birthday, I guess the 'going out for dinner plans' will have to be canceled tomorrow if it's still bad and messy outside. Tomorrow I will officially have past a quarter century old. Geez, that makes me feel old.
Years ago I can remember waking up in my bedroom on my birthday and I just couldn't imagine that this was going to be my first day at being 9 years old....Wow! 9 years old...Almost in the double digits. That was such a long time ago that I can barely remember it. That's it, when you hit the big ol' 26 things are all down hill from there, first it's the memory like I'm showing...Then it's the hearing which should lead to some absurdly funny situations as my TV shows has told me over the years. Old people always cause some laughter...but I better be careful with laughing now, I just may pee a little.

Problems with blogger

Anyone else having issues with blogger lately?
Holy crap, I couldn't post for over a week. I was beginning to think I should move my blog over to another blog posting site thing.
The other day on facebook I get this strange message from some lady in Ontario:

"hey u...how are you?...So how was the trip home?...i bet it was long...so when are you heading back this way or going back to work?
i must say i had fun!!...well im off to bed...ttyl"

I felt like replying but became weary of the whole thing and just left it alone. There must be another me going around the world somewhere. That isn't a good thing! Imagine....2 Sheldons going around! scary!
